Get ready to experience the magic of the season as we guide you through the top activities happening across Wyndham. From cosy evenings by the fire to captivating cultural celebrations, there’s something for everyone.
Festivals and Markets
See Werribee light up on Friday 23 June at the annual Winter Street Party! Picture captivating fire shows, light installations and the aroma of hot cocoa in the air. There will also be a whole host of street performers, music and more.
And don’t forget to head to Firefly Night Market in Tarneit on Saturday 24 June for a fantastic family night out. Here you’ll get to explore over 70 market stalls, live music, cultural performances and food trucks, including the likes of Daniel’s Donuts.
Culture and Comedy
Looking for a good laugh this winter? Look no further! Take your pick from the comedic stylings of Akmal on Saturday 1 July to a jaw-dropping circus performance at WERK IT on Sunday 23 July.
For the little ones, the much-loved children’s classic Possum Magic will arrive at Wyndham Cultural Centre on Monday 31 August.
Wyndham Art Gallery also has some fantastic free exhibitions this winter including Enduring – Recent Acquisitions highlights which will feature work by contemporary First Nations artists Karen Casey, Maree Clarke, Michael Cook and Aunty Marlene Gilson and IWARA a solo exhibition by Robert Fielding Curated by David Hagger. Both exhibitions will be open from 8 June – 30 July.
Food and Drink
‘Tis the season for indulging, and luckily for locals in the West, there are plenty of fantastic culinary experiences to visit!
Tuckers is a brand new addition to Werribee, and they’re taking the sandwich game to new levels! Try one of their simply delicious creations including chicken katsu and roast porchetta rolls with pickles and Swiss cheese and wash it all down with a freshly brewed coffee.
If you’re after something a little fancier, The Refectory in Werribee Park will be serving up decadent high tea experiences every Sunday this winter. Enjoy an intimate high tea for two in their beautiful dining room or get your friends and family together with bookings for up to ten per table.
Sports and Adventure
If you’re up for braving the chilly temperatures, there’s also plenty to do outdoors this winter.
Embrace the season with an African safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo, mini golf at the Elements Coastal Activity Park, a gentle walk along the Wyndham Bay Trail or a stroll through Point Cook Coastal Park.
You can also catch the action at a VFL match and cheer on the Werribee Tigers at their home ground – Avalon Airport Oval at Chirnside Park. Tickets are just $5 – $10 and you’re within walking distance of Watton Street’s excellent cafes, pubs and bars.
